Sandy-related repair project starts at Union Beach wastewater plant

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) said a $28 million dollar project to repair Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority (BRSA) facilities at Union Beach that were damaged by Superstorm Sandy broke ground Monday.The facility, which services 83,000 people in eight municipalities, suffered flooding in several buildings and damage to underground system components that required immediate quick fixes.
