EPA Approves the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe of Minnesota to Develop Water Quality Standards

News Release: CHICAGO (November 9, 2021) – Today U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced that the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe of Minnesota is now approved to develop water quality standards for surface waters on the Leech Lake Reservation. The 864,158-acre reservation spans portions of Beltrami, Cass, Hubbard, and Itasca counties in Northern Minnesota.

EPA Fines Pesticide Applicator for Alleged Violations of Federal Pesticide Law on Kansas Farms

News Release: LENEXA, KAN. (NOV. 10, 2021) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) penalized Nutrien Ag Solutions Inc. for allegedly applying pesticides that were cancelled by the federal government and applying them in a manner inconsistent with the products’ labeling. The Colorado-based company, which sells, distributes, and applies pesticides mainly for farming operations, will pay $668,100.

County of Hawaii Fined for Violating U.S. EPA Safe Drinking Water Act Order

News Release: HONOLULU – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has fined the County of Hawai‘i $28,500 for failure to meet the milestone requiring complete design of the Pāhala Wastewater Treatment Facility in Pāhala, Hawaii.
