News Release: BOSTON (Oct. 19, 2021) — Today the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) New England region released data that demonstrated New Englanders experienced more unhealthy air quality days in 2021 compared to 2020. Based on data collected between March and September 2021, there were 23 days when ozone concentrations in New England reached unhealthy levels. News Release: SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 20, 2021) –The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reached a settlement with hazardous waste treatment company Clean Harbors for improper management of hazardous waste at its facility in San Jose, California. Improper storage and management of hazardous wastes poses threats to human health or the environment. The company has agreed to pay a $25,000 civil penalty.
