Department of Veterans Affairs Blind Rehabilitation Center: Committee on Veterans' Affairs was discharged from further consideration of H.R. 4360, to designate the Department of Veterans Affairs blind rehabilitation center in Long Beach, California, as the ``Major Charles Robert Soltes, Jr., O.D. Department of Veterans Affairs Blind Rehabilitation Center'', and the bill was then passed, clearing the measure for the President.

Brainard Nomination: Senate resumed consideration of the nomination of Lael Brainard, of the District of Columbia, to be an Under Secretary of the Treasury.

By 84 yeas to 10 nays (Vote No. Ex. 118), three-fifths of those Senators duly chosen and sworn, having voted in the affirmative, Senate agreed to the motion to close further debate on the nomination.

Nominations--Agreement: A unanimous-consent-time agreement was reached providing that any recess, adjournment, or period of morning business count post-cloture, and Senate continue consideration of the nomination of Lael Brainard, of the District of Columbia, to be an Under Secretary of the Treasury at approximately 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, and that the time until 12 noon be equally divided and controlled between Senator Baucus and Grassley, or their designees; with Senator Bunning controlling 15 minutes of the time under the control of Senator Grassley; that at 12 noon, all post-cloture time be considered expired, and Senate vote on confirmation of the nomination; that upon the Senate reconvening at 2:15 p.m., Senate resume consideration of the nomination of Marisa J. Demeo, of the District of Columbia, to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and that there be up to 6 hours of debate with respect to the nomination, with the time equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders, or their designees; that upon the use or yielding back of time, Senate vote on confirmation of the nomination and that the cloture motion with respect to the nomination be withdrawn; that upon confirmation of Marisa J. Demeo, of the District of Columbia, to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Senate begin consideration of the nomination of Stuart Nash, of the District of Columbia, to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and immediately vote on confirmation of the nomination.
