Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry: Committee announced the following new subcommittee assignments:

Subcommittee on Production and Price Competitiveness: Senators Cochran (Chairman), Warner, Helms, Coverdell, Dole, Pryor, Daschle, Baucus, and Kerrey.

Subcommittee on Marketing, Inspection, and Product Promotion: Senators Helms (Chairman), Dole, Cochran, McConnell, Santorum, Conrad, Pryor, Baucus, and Heflin.

Subcommittee on Forestry, Conservation, and Rural Revitalization: Senators Craig (Chairman), Coverdell, Warner, Helms, Campbell, Heflin, Harkin, Conrad, and Kerrey.

Subcommittee on Research, Nutrition, and General Legislation: Senators McConnell (Chairman), Dole, Santorum, Craig, Campbell, Harkin, Heflin, Daschle, and Pryor.

APPROPRIATIONS--LEGISLATIVE BRANCH

Committee on Appropriations: Subcommittee on Legislative Branch held hearings on proposed budget estimates for fiscal year 1996, receiving testimony in behalf of funds for their respective activities from Sheila Burke, Secretary of the Senate; Howard Greene, Senate Sergeant at Arms; Michael Davidson, Senate Legal Counsel; and Harriet Jenkins, Director, Senate Office of Fair Employment Practices.

Subcommittee will meet again on Monday, May 15.

APPROPRIATIONS--EPA/CEQ/AGENCY FOR TOXIC SUBSTANCES AND DISEASE REGISTRY

Committee on Appropriations: Subcommittee on VA, HUD, and Independent Agencies held hearings on proposed budget estimates for fiscal year 1996, receiving testimony in behalf of funds for their respective activities from Carol Browner, Administrator, Environmental Protection Agency; Kathleen McGinty, Chair, Council on Environmental Quality; and David Satcher, Administrator, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.

Subcommittee will meet again on Wednesday, May 17.
