Missouri Department of Natural Resources issued the following announcement on March 8.
Come to First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site Saturday, March 23 for Special Session Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The interpretive staff will present “Your Compass to the Past,” a skills and demonstration program that is free and first-come, first-served until class space is filled.
The untouched frontier of Missouri presented adventurers, trappers and explorers with a variety of obstacles. There were those interested in going West to make their fortune, but there was another kind of trail blazer – the surveyor. Come and try your hand at working on an 1820s’ team surveying the raw landscape, or at least St. Charles’ landscape. Join us for hands on fun!
The First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site is located at 200 S. Main St., St. Charles. For more information about the event, call the site at 636-940-3322.
