Anglers can pick up 2017 Delaware Fishing Guide

The Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife’s 2017 fishing guide and fishing rulers are now available at state fishing license locations such as sporting goods stores, bait and tackle shops, hardware stores and at the division's main office in Dover, the state Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said in a press release.

DNREC said the guide features additions to the Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament and Live Release program. Other highlights included in the guide are the state’s fishing license requirements, instructions on how to receive a Delaware Fisherman Information Network (F.I.N.) number, information on freshwater and tidal sportfishing, angler tips and fishing rules, DNREC said in the release.

“We are pleased to issue the 2017 Delaware Fishing Guide and fishing rulers early in the fishing year to better serve the fishing public,” Division of Fish and Wildlife Director David Saveikis said in the release. “We encourage anglers to use them as a source of helpful information to enjoy their fishing experiences in Delaware.”

The guide provides a user-friendly summary of fishing opportunities in Delaware, from freshwater ponds and rivers to the Delaware Bay and ocean, John Clark, DNREC fisheries administrator, said in the release. “The fishing rulers are perfect to keep on board your boat or in your tacklebox. Every angler should pick up a ruler and a guide when they buy their Delaware fishing license.”
