Idaho Department of Environmental Quality seeks comments on Idaho National Laboratory site treatment plan

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (ID DEQ) said it is accepting public comments on its recently released annual update of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site Treatment Plan (STP) through Dec. 23.

The STP details how the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), which runs the INL, will comply with mixed-waste management regulations, including changes to the laboratory’s covered waste streams management and waste treatment plans, both at the INL and for off-site mixed waste.

Those interested in commenting on the STP can review the plan online or in person at the DEQ’s office in Boise or the DEQ’s Idaho Falls Regional Office. Public comments should be submitted to the Waste Management & Remediation Division via mail or email and should be received by 5 p.m. Dec. 23.
