Toro honored with 2016 WaterSense Excellence Award

The Toro Company recently was honored with a 2016 WaterSense Excellence Award for its continued efforts to promote water conservation through activities including training, trade shows and expos educating their contractors, distributors and consumers.
“Over the past 10 years, communities, states, organizations, manufacturers, retailers and builders across the country have been working with WaterSense to help Americans save water for future generations,” U.S. Environmental Protection Ageny Office of Water Deputy Assistant Administrator Joel Beauvais said. “I am pleased to see so many of our WaterSense partners making contributions to build the resilience of communities everywhere by helping people use water more efficiently.”
The award, presented at the WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, marked Toro as one of several EPA WaterSense partners to win national recognition for their contributions to the program. Toro’s outreach efforts extend to a partnership with the Wyland Foundation’s National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation and a weekly radio program, The Water Zone, on southern California’s KCAA. Toro also recently launched a new website to further assist members of the public in finding information about water conservation.
Since 2006, the WaterSense program and its partners, including Toro, have contributed to U.S. consumers saving 1.5 trillion gallons of water and 212 billion kilowatt hours of energy.
