WVDEP schedules three seminars on permitting and regulation requirements

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) and the West Virginia University Manufacturing Extension Partnership are offering three seminars on WVDEP permitting and enforcement over the next four months.

WVDEP Ombudsman Dr. Terry Polen will administer each of the seminars, which will all take place at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown.

The first seminar, entitled “Air Quality, General Permitting, and Compliance in the State of West Virginia,” is scheduled for April 20 and will focus the requirements dictated by state and federal clean air and air monitoring regulations and National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).

“Wastewater/Stormwater and Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST) General Permitting and Compliance in the State of West Virginia,” the May 25 seminar, will educate attendees on the state’s AST regulations and the compliance requirements associated for Stormwater Pollution Prevention and Groundwater Protection plans, the Clean Water Act, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC).

The last seminar will take place on July 13 and is titled “Hazardous Waste Management Compliance in the State of West Virginia.” It will focus on regulations, permitting processes, emergency response plans, marking and labelling requirements and waste management for hazardous materials, as required on both the state and federal levels.

The seminar registration fees are $239 and the registration deadline for each is two days before the event.
