Oregon DEQ proposes approving permit renewal for Silver Lake and Paisley Transfer Stations
The proposed permits would hold the transfer stations to similar conditions imposed by the initial permits, which were issued in February 2006, and will be based on federal and state regulations for recordkeeping, monitoring and reporting requirements. They allow for up to three burning sessions per year for some materials, including land clearing debris and clean wood.
The facilities are two of four serving Lake County, a rural area. The Silver Lake Transfer Station is located just outside the Silver Lake community, while the Paisley Station is located 40 miles north of Lakeview.
The DEQ is accepting public comments on the draft permit renewals, which can be submitted via mail, fax or email, by Feb. 11. The department is also offering review appointments of the application and associated materials, which can be found online at the DEQ’s website.
