The EE/CA examines the EPA’s objectives for its removal actions at the site and presents two alternatives for reducing the potential of materials from the site being introduced into the surrounding area’s surface water and storm water.
The EPA’s walking tour from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. will allow meeting attendees to view the Clinch River site before the 6 p.m. public meeting, where EPA Representative Scott Miller joins local officials to discuss the two alternatives evaluated within the EE/CA. Tennessee Department of Environmental Conservation’s Erin Sutton, Tennessee Department of Health’s Joe George and Council for West Rock’s Dan Brown will also on hand to offer information to those in attendance.
The EPA developed the EE/CA Report based on requirements from the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Contingency Plan.
