The House Subcommittee on Energy and Power will hold a hearing on the EPS Improvement Act of 2016, authored by U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC), which would remove some lighting technologies from the External Power Supplies (EPS) definition.

“This legislation is a win for manufacturers in Kentucky, North Carolina, and across the country,” Ellmers and U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-KY), chairman of the subcommittee, said. “It provides them with the clarity they need to ensure hard-working American consumers have continued access to the best lighting technology on the market.”

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) EPS efficiency standard was finalized in 2014 and is scheduled to go into effect in February.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
