RGGI schedules meeting to garner feedback for 2016 Program Review

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Inc. has scheduled a stakeholder meeting for Feb. 2 in Wilmington, Delaware, allowing for public comments for the RGGI participating states’ 2016 Program Review.

The nine participating states – Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont – are undertaking the review in 2016 to stay within a timeframe determined during the completion of the previous report in 2012. The meeting will take place at Chase Center on the Riverfront, 815 Justison St., beginning at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will be available as a webinar for those unable to attend in person.

RGGI will consider input from this meeting, along with all comments submitted during its review process, when determining any changes for the program. The initiative will be reviewing program design elements, including new considerations created by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Power Plan.

Those interested in attending the stakeholder meeting must register online before 8 a.m. on Feb. 1.
