The TNGVGP falls under the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) and seeks to reduce emissions through the replacement or retrofitting of heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles with natural gas powered vehicles or engines.
The TCEQ is looking for applications for projects that will reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions by at least 25 percent and which will see the new or retrofitted vehicle operated within the Clean Transportation Triangle (CTT) at least 75 percent of the time, including nonattainment areas, affected counties and other counties.
Entities seeking to apply for TNGVGP funding must first contact a participating dealer that holds a contract with the TCEQ.
The grant applications period is open until May 26, 2017, though it may end earlier if all available funding is allocated before that date. Further information on participating dealers and project eligibility can be found on the TERP website.
