Idaho DEQ processing permit modification request from K&T Steel

K&T Steel recently submitted a permit modification request to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regarding its Twin Falls facility, where the company conducts steel fabrication and tank manufacturing activities.

The modification request pertains to the company’s air quality permit to construct (PTC), and if approved emissions at the facility will still be required to stay within the pre-established legal limits. According to the request, K&T Steel would like to increase its use of steel grit, replace a scrubber and add a plasma cutter with a particulate matter filtration system.

Those interested in more information on the company’s PTC can find the permit application and other relevant materials on the DEQ’s website. The department will provide a 30 day public comment period on the modification request if it receives a written request for one by December 14.
