New Meadows, Idaho wins $30,000 drinking water planning grant

The City of New Meadows, in Idaho’s Adams County, won a drinking water planning grant of $30,000 from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) this week for a study on its drinking water system.

Based on the results of the study, the city will release an environmental information document, which will detail the current drinking water system’s evaluation, a plan for how the system will handle future growth and alternative plans for improvements that the city deems necessary.

In addition to the $30,000 grant provided by the DEQ, New Meadows will receive a $22,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development. The city will provide the remaining $8,000 needed to reach the estimated project cost of $60,000.
