Texas Gov. Abbott makes appointments for Coastal Water Authority Board

Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently appointed Thomas Reiser and Douglas Walker to the board of directors for the Coastal Water Authority, a conservation and reclamation district encompassing Harris, Chambers and Liberty counties, for terms that will end on April 1, 2017.

This is Reiser’s first time serving on the board, while Walker it being reappointed. On the authority’s board, they will assist in its work to transport and deliver water, both within and outside the authority, and develop the necessary infrastructure to do so.

Reiser is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and received an honourable discharge from the Coast Guard. He is a Director of Allegiance Bancshares, Inc., and a Chairman of Upstream Brokers, as well as a managing partner at Fenchurch Oil and Gas, LLP and a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas.

Walker is a 30-year veteran of Exxon Mobil, from which he is now retired, and holds degrees from Bucknell University and Cornell University. He is a six-term city councilman for Beach City and has previously served as the president of the Rotary Club of Baytown and assistant governor of the Houston District Rotary Club. He is currently a board member at the Bay Area Rehabilitation Center and the Lee College Foundation.
