Inhofe calls out Democrats critical of WOTUS rule, urges passage of resolution of disapproval
According to Inhofe, 41 senators blocked debate on the bill, including 11 who later expressed concern about the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) rule.
"IInstead of doing their job to provide legislative clarity to the EPA on the regulation of our nation’s waters, they wrote a letter,” Inhofe said. "If only three of these 11 senators would have voted to proceed to the bill, we could have worked with them to resolve their concerns and ours about the WOTUS rule.”
Inhofe also pushed for his fellow legislators to pass a Resolution of Disapproval on the regulation, S. J. Res. 22, brought by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA).
“We have a rule that two courts have already said is likely illegal. It will be overturned,” said Inhofe. “We don’t have to stand for this. We don’t have to endure years of confusion before the courts act. We can stop this rule. Sen. Ernst’s Congressional Review Act will do that. I urge a yes vote.”
