National Drive Electric Week boasts over 180 events worldwide.
There are more than 180 events taking place in 175 American cities and four other countries for National Drive Electric Week, which started on Sept. 12 and will run through Sept. 20 to promote plug-in electric vehicles (EVs).

“With more plug-in electric vehicles on the market and on the road than ever before, it's clear American consumers want 21st-century solutions to climate disruption,” said Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune, whose organization created the event with Plug In America and Electric Auto Association. “Americans aren't just looking toward a clean energy future, but leading the way.”

Events unveiling new EVs, successful charging programs and famous EV enthusiasts, like race car driver Leilani Munter, will showcase the benefits of electric cars. These include better value for money, heavy cuts to emissions and easier maintenance.

“What strikes me the most about National Drive Electric Week is the incredible diversity of our participants and our event organizers’ passion,” Plug In America Executive Director Joel Levin said. “Plug-ins are not a partisan issue any more. People just love these vehicles, and the volunteers putting on these events are keen to educate people about EVs and share their excitement.”

Sierra Club is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
