Inox Wind places $40 million order with AMSC

Inox Wind Limited, an India-based wind and power grid company, placed another order for approximately $40 million worth of wind turbine electrical control systems from AMSC on Monday.

"This latest order from Inox demonstrates the strong growth in its business," AMSC President and CEO Daniel P. McGahn, said "We expect to complete deliveries under this order in approximately half the time of the previous order. Inox has proven its commitment and ability to succeed, grow and become a major player within one of the world's largest wind markets."

Inox, which is part of the Inox Group of Companies, will begin receiving the systems in the second quarter of the fiscal year, and AMSC expects to complete the order by the end of the fiscal year. The company’s electrical control systems include the wind turbine power converter cabinet, internal power supply and various controls.

"Over the next quarters, we expect to maintain the growth that we have achieved so far, while we expand our manufacturing capacities in preparation for achieving greater market share," Devansh Jain, director of Inox Wind Limited, said. "We continue to have a very strong relationship with AMSC. By using AMSC's sophisticated technology and design, we produce wind turbines with a highly competitive cost of energy."
