EPA grants Tetra Tech team 5-year emergency preparedness contract

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently awarded the Tetra Tech team with another contract to support its Environmental Response Team, including radiation protection from Dade Moeller, a Washington-based company that supports safety, radiological and environmental operations.

This is the third contract awarded to Tetra Tech and carries a five-year period of performance. As per the terms, Dade Moeller will continue to contribute to the EPA’s preparedness for events with radioactive or nuclear material, during which it is responsible for the nation’s environmental response. Dade Moeller contributes emergency preparedness and rapid response services.

The EPA is charged with maintaining instrumentation and trained personal at Environmental Response Team locations in Edison, New Jersey; Erlanger, Kentucky; and Las Vegas, Nevada. Dade Moeller’s role on the Tetra Tech team is to maintain the radiation monitoring instruments at these locations, as well as to train the EPA personnel on their use. The company also trains agency staff on responding to incidents and pre-deploying for large gatherings such as major sporting events.
