Burn Less Coal Promotes Pre-Treatment Coal Technology in Wake of Supreme Court Decision

Body
Burn Less Coal issued a release on Tuesday to highlight its catalyst solution, a pre-treatment technology that makes burning coal cleaner and more efficient, in response to the Supreme Court’s recent decision on the limits set in the Clean Air Act.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed the Clean Power Plan to not only reduce carbon emissions, but also to make homes, businesses and manufacturing facilities more efficient, to drive renewable energy use and promote natural gas. This has put a burden on the coal industry.

The recent Supreme Court case stemmed from 9th US Circuit Court of Appeal ruling that found the agency’s plans to be too costly, including pollution control mechanisms costing in excess of $10 million, without adequate assurances of effectiveness.

Burn Less Coal is a company that promotes the interests of the coal industry and works to safe-guard the environment. Its catalyst solution is applied topically to coal before it is burned and the company purports a 27 percent decrease in carbon dioxide levels as well as a 12.5 to 25 percent reduction on volume of coal burned.
