The New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) board recently appointed Allan Freeth to be the agency’s next chief executive.
He replaces Rob Forlong, who joined the Whangarei District Council in June.
Freeth has a bachelor's degree in zoology, an MBA and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Population Genetics.
He was previously in a senior management position at Trust Bank and served as the chief executive at TelstraClear. In addition to his proven leadership capabilities, Freeth also has a passion for science.
Freeth holds postitions in the not-for-profit sector as well, currently chairing the Housing NZ Corporation and Triplejump boards. He also has worked with Queen Margaret College, Save the Children NZ, FilmNZ and Crimestoppers, in addition to other organizations promoting youth, community and arts development
