The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced on Tuesday that PRIDE Industries of Roseville, California, was one of 21 nonprofit winners of the first-ever Safer Choice Partner of the Year Awards.

“We are pleased to recognize PRIDE Industries for its efforts to distribute products that are safer to use, without sacrificing quality and performance,” EPA Pacific Southwest Regional Administrator Jared Blumenfeld said. “By promoting Safer Choice products, PRIDE Industries is leading the way to a greener future.”

The Safer Choice program allows chemical product manufacturers to submit their ingredient lists to the EPA, where the products are evaluated with strict human and environmental health requirements before being allowed to use the Safer Choice logo on their packaging. The Safer Choice Partner of the Year Awards recognize manufacturers, designers and promoters of the products, and PRIDE is being recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Distributor.

“As one of the nation’s largest nonprofit employers of people with disabilities, we feel a great responsibility to ensure use of the safest products available without sacrificing the quality and performance expectations of our customers,” PRIDE Product Manager Al Ahlm said.
