Osprey Biotechnics one of 21 Safer Choice Partners of the Year

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently named Osprey Biotechnics, Inc., of Sarasota, Florida, one of 21 Safer Choice Partner of the Year winners for 2015.

The award recognizes companies that have worked to design, manufacture or promote safer products.

Safer Choice products, formerly labeled “Design for the Environment," are voluntarily submitted to EPA review, and must fit within a strict set of criteria for human and environmental health.

“These winners demonstrate that Safer Choice-labeled products, which are safer for homes, schools and workplaces and perform well, can also be good for business,” EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy said. “The name says it all: Safer Choice products are safer for you, your kids, pets, co-workers, communities and the environment. Our scientists employ a stringent set of human health and environmental safety standards when reviewing products for the Safer Choice program, so a product with the label is backed by EPA science.”

Osprey Biotechnics was one of six companies to receive a Safer Formulator-Manufacturer award. Other categories include Safer Chemical Innovator, Purchaser/Distributor, Retailer and Program Supporter, with winners coming from 15 states.
