The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is currently accepting public comments on a proposed air quality permit to construct (PTC), which would allow Fabri-Kal, a food container manufacturer, to conduct construction activities at a new Burley, Idaho, facility.

The permit application and all related documents are available for public review on the DEQ’s website. Those interested in commenting can submit their comments to the DEQ’s Air Quality Division through Dec. 30.

The facility, located at 2457 Washington Ave., in Burley, manufactures agricultural-based food containers. The permit will regulate emissions from the facility.

The DEQ’s review of the permit application determined that -- in the conditions specified within the applications -- Fabri-Kal’s construction and operation of equipment at the site would not violate ambient air quality standards.

The DEQ has also determined that the proposed operating conditions would not present a threat or unreasonable effects on human and animal life or nearby vegetation.
