Great Western Malting requests air quality permit modification from Idaho DEQ

Great Western Malting this week requested modifications to its air quality permit to construct (PTC) for its barley and wheat malt and feed facility in Pocatello, Idaho.

The request was made to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

The company intends to increase grain throughput and malt production, which requires changing its current PTC. If approved, Great Western Malting will still have to maintain emissions at legally permitted levels.

The DEQ has made the permit application available online at its website and will open a 30-day public comment period if one is requested. Those interested should request the comment period, by mail or email, before 5 p.m. on December. 3.
