Idaho DEQ accepting comments on draft permit renewals for Clearwater Paper Corporation

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is now accepting public comments on two draft permit renewals for the Clearwater Paper Corporation, which seeks to extend its air quality permits for another five years.

The Tier I air quality operating permits would allow Clearwater’s facility to continue its operations with regulated emissions for the extended time period. Details on the draft permits and technical information can be requested from the DEQ.

The department is accepting written comments on the draft permits until December 16. It is also accepting requests for public hearings on the topic until December 1. Comments and requests can be submitted online at the DEQ’s website or via mail to its state office.
