The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality's (DEQ) Wyoming Environmental Stewardship Program (WESP) recognized Red Giant Oils on Monday for its work with local businesses in the region to recycle their waste and for their voluntary efforts to aid the environment.

“We are proud to recognize the hard work and dedication of Red Giant Oils," DEQ Pollution Prevention Coordinator Landon Brown said. "It is important that we recognize companies that are working to reduce their impacts to the environment and recycling these wastes.”

In 2014, the company recycled more than 340,000 pounds of steel and 16,500 gallons of used oil from used oil filters, preventing those materials from ending up in Wyoming landfills. In total, Red Giant Oils recycled more than three million gallons of oil last year. The company also reduced its own environmental impact by going completely paperless, upgrading their fleet to 2013 or newer year models and using a high efficiency pressure washers.

"It's great to see companies like Red Giant Oils step up and show outstanding leadership in environmental stewardship while running a successful business operation in Wyoming," said DEQ Director Todd Parfitt.
