EPA head to speak at Energy Star awards ceremony

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy will recognize organizations across the U.S. for their commitment to energy-efficiency today at the Energy Star Partner of the Year awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

The Energy Star program designates partners each year who have distinguished themselves by leading the way in finding or providing cost-effective and environmentally friendly products and services. Winners for 2015 include Fortune 500 companies, school districts and specific buildings, which reflects the diversity of groups seeking to improve their energy use.

Out of a pool of more than 16,000 Energy Star partners, the EPA selected 128 honorees from 33 states. In addition to McCarthy, Goodwill Industries CEO and President Jim Gibbons will speak at the ceremony, delivering the keynote remarks and congratulating award recipients.
